Walt Disney's childhood
Walt Disney's childhood is most likely what you wouldn't expect it to be like. Although he grew up to make kids happy, when he was younger, he struggled very much. Walt was born on December 5th, 1901. His parents worked long and hard as builders. In Walt's household, they didn't focus on having fun, but working hard. Walt Disney's father did not show many expressions except anger. Elias, Walt's dad, cared for his family, but had a bad temper and did not approve of many things.
In 1906, Walt's family moved to live in a farmhouse in Missouri. Each family member had their own job. Walt's job was to watch the pigs and to make sure that they don't get into any kind of trouble.
Walt went to school later than most kids. He started school at the age of seven. Walt Disney did not do very well in school and was not a great student. Walt had a great passion in drawing, and his aunt Margaret encouraged him to do so.
In 1911, Walt Disney' family was forced to move again because Elias was not making a profit on the farm. They had settled in Kansas City. Walt had a job as a paperboy, but didn't make any money. He only got pocket change at his job of delivering medicine for a local pharmacy.
As Walt's artwork became more known, he began to get paid for drawing advertisements, posters, and more. To further his talents, he went to Kansas City Art Institute.
